The Goldfinch, Carduelis carduelis, is a beautiful finch with a red face and head and a yellow patch on its wings. They are often associated with the teasel, for feeding on which their elongated finch beak is particularly well suited. They live and breed in loose groups and the collective term for a group of Goldfinch is a ‘charm’.
