Crystal Wharf contains 56 apartments and design studios. They are arranged in three distinctive wings around a landscaped courtyard and have wonderful views along the Regent’s Canal. Built on a corner of the once bustling City Road Basin it has great access to the City. The Basin used to be longer, with a bridge carrying the City Road over it. That end has now been filled in and where once wharves, workshops and stables stood there are now public gardens, offices and apartments. The City Road Basin gave prosperity to the region, being a good place to unload boat cargo from the Midlands for transporting onwards to London. It was much better situated for this than either Brentford or Paddington. This black and white landscape (horizontal) format print has been created from a photograph made from the towpath on the opposite side of the canal.
