Bald Eagle

The Bald Eagle Haliaeetus leucocephalus is found across a wide area of North America. It is the national bird of the USA but is still relatively rare.

Their numbers declined to only four hundred breeding pairs in the nineteen sixties but are now more than ten times that number, thanks to a successful conservation programme.

Bald Eagles’ range extends from Alaska, through Canada, the USA and into Northern Mexico. This print is from a picture captured in Florida.
