From my British Garden Birds set this is a picture of a Robin perched on a branch. Also known as the European Robin Erithacus rubecula.
A favourite on Christmas cards, Robins are found throughout the UK and are unusual in that they sing throughout the year. Like other garden birds they thrive in woodland margins, hedgerows and parks. They are fiercely territorial and a pair will defend their joint summer territory but in winter they have individual territories.
